Kate L. Harrison picture
Kate Harrison graduated with general and departmental honors from Vassar College in 2000 with an independent major in Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development. After school, she moved to Berkeley, CA where she worked in environmental education and outreach for several organizations including the East Bay Regional Park District, The Jane Goodall Institute, and Pesticide Watch. While in California, Kate wrote original curriculum and delivered slideshow presentations to school children and community groups in the Bay Area on a wide variety of environmental topics. In 2002, she moved to Connecticut where she worked for the legislative Environment Committee in Hartford. She has also worked for the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry in Washington DC.

Kate now lives with her husband Barry in New Haven, where she is finishing a joint degree in Environmental Policy and Law at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and Pace Law School. In December 2006, Kate began writing a column for Real Estate Valuation Magazine Online entitled: The Environmentalist. Her piece “Organic Plus: Regulating Beyond the Current Organic Standards” was published this winter in the Pace Environmental Law Review journal. Her first book, The Green Bride Guide will be available from Sourcebooks in December, 2008.
