Real Green Weddings
Karen and Jeremy Weiss were married on May 30, 2009 at Hotel Vitale in San Francisco, California.
About the Couple:
Karen and Jeremy met at a bar in San Francisco. Both had friends who were huge Steelers fans, so they were repeatedly dragged back to watch the Steelers in the playoffs (little did Karen know that Jeremy kept coming back just to see her!). Karen gave Jeremy her number, and their relationship kicked off with a little competition: they put a bet on which team would win the Superbowl, with a round of drinks at stake. The promised round of drinks was never bought; instead, the couple spent the next year and a half commuting between San Francisco and Napa to see each other.
Karen and Jeremy now live in San Francisco where Jeremy works in wine production while he attends the Presidio School of Management, and Karen works for the State of California as a coastal policy analyst.
Decision to Go Green:
When they met, Karen was working for an organization that did eco-footprint work, which opened her eyes to the impact of their lives on the environment. The bride tells us she had learned to “talk the talk, [but] Jeremy helped me realize that we needed to walk the walk.” They decided to do so with an eco-chic wedding that expressed their style, which they dubbed “Modern Organic.”
